A Blue Perspective: March Madness

Wow, I almost made it two months into the new year without writing a post. So bad, so bad ... so ... bad.

But! I blame it on the craziest month of March that I've ever planned. If you manage to corner me at any of these events and steal my lucky charms, you'll get a free ... hug?

March 1: Webjam 2

Those crazy Webjammers are at it again. This time I couldn't miss out on what was reportedly the hottest event this side of a supernova, so I'm flying up to Sydney to present. Which reminds me, I have to write something to present.

March 3: Barcamp Sydney

There's a unique cosmological alignment going on in Sydney that week, with both Webjam and Barcamp coinciding neatly, so I figured I'd stick around to see what camping at a bar is all about.

March 6: Webstock Mini (JavaScript Workshop)

The great folks at Webstock were kind enough to contact me and see if I knew any good JavaScripters who could present a workshop. I didn't, so they decided to fly me over instead.

I'll be giving a JavaScript and Ajax Workshop. So drop in if you're a Wellingtonian looking to brush up on your client-side scripting.

March 9 – 13: SXSW Interactive 2007

Yes, the biggest geek party the World has ever seen is happening again, and this time I'm unlucky enough to be on a panel. Dustin Diaz, Jonathan Snook and Sally Carson will be helping me talk about Uniting the Holy Trinity of Web Design, where we'll explore the dynamics of modern web development teams and where they go wrong.

Aside from that you might see me under a table somewhere around Austin.

March 22 – 23: WebDU 2007

Russ Weakley conned me into presenting at WebDU, where we'll be talking about Creating the perfect layout using CSS and JavaScript. An easy way to round out the month.

And I thought my schedule for March was crazy, I just fly to Austin for SXSW, then fly to Moab to ride mountain bikes for a week and not injure myself too bad, before flying down to Vegas for the IASummit. Cam, your frequent flyer points will make mine look anaemic.

This just proves that all you do Cam is attend Web events...

Come on admit it, you do it for the buzz. Your event addicted.

I will wish you good luck at Webjam and will ask “How it was?” at webDU. Other events out of my scope… unfortunately.

Just keep blogging during March, do not get absent too long because of those events!

In Europe won't be big web-related events? THX!
